Dearest Travelers and Friends,

As we are all aware, this totally unexpected and at the same time devastating COVID-19 global health event which has suddenly caught the world by surprise has quickly reached to unprecedented proportions worldwide. Several countries have been forced to take severe measures to fight against its speedy spread in order to protect the health and life of all of its citizens, as well as all human beings at large, irrespectively of their origin.

On March 16th, the Government of Peru declared a state of emergency nationwide for a period of 15 days. Today, on Thursday March 26, Peru’s President, Mr. Martin Vizcarra has extended this state of emergency to continue through until June 30th, 2020, to further slow down and control the spread of COVID-19.

For this purpose, we would like to inform you that the following conditions continue to apply to Peru:

A Mandatory Quarantine nationwide until June 30th, 2020: meaning a lockdown across the country for people to stay indoors without freely circulation.

• All business and social activities with the exception of Health Services, Banks, Food Stores, certain Public Transportation Services, Gas Stations, and Hotels (Only to accommodate those guests who will have to mandatorily comply with the quarantine) are all obliged to also comply with this quarantine.

• Borders continue to be closed without any national or international flights operating. In this sense the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State, has also mandated for no cruise & tourism companies to operate during this period of mandatory lockdown.

• Consequently, please be advised that given these emergency measures which are very strict, unable us to operate equally for this same lockdown period.

As other countries and millions of people are going through these same once-in-a-lifetime circumstances, we are confident that we will all come back stronger.

Wishing you and all of your family members well, and that you all stay safe as we all defeat this unfortunate episode, we also want to let you know that we will continue to be here for you to welcome you to the most unique, exotic rainforest, the Upper Peruvian Amazon.

We will see you in the Amazon soon,
